The Bible Codes
by Joe Durham

The Shroud of Turin has been the subject of debate for centuries. Christians, scientists, researchers, and onlookers have awed at the mysterious image that is imprinted on a 14’ piece of cloth. The history of the Shroud is miles long. Between the books and articles that have been written you would think that the mystery has been solved. . . but it hasn’t.
A few years ago a Michael Drosnin published a book entitled, The Bible Code. Inside there are hundreds of examples of codes that have been found within the Hebrew version of the Bible. For some, the Bible codes are merely coincidence; to others the codes are a deeper meaning to the Bible.
What are the Bible Codes? Hebrew is written from right to left; there is no punctuation and no vowels within the ancient text. Codes are found by searching for words using different skip frequencies called ELS.
“If we start with the second letter (L) and then eliminate, or skip, three letters to pick up the next letter of the code (O), and so forth, we will find the word, LOVE within the string. Like this:

a L l o f O u r a V e n u E s a r e w i d e.

LOVE is an equidistant letter sequence (ELS). Such codes can have a skip of any length and can either be forward or backward.”1
Codes have been found on the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, World War II, the bombing of the twin towers, as well as hundreds of others. So, why not apply the codes to the Shroud and see what we can find? Codes are found by searching for a handful of words that are all related. The more words that are found that correspond with the subject the greater the meaning of the findings.
Given the extensive history of the Shroud there should be no reason that we would not be able to find pages of codes on the Shroud. We are currently creating a list of words that are related to the Shroud of Turin. We are compiling names, dates, places, tests, words and phrases to search for. We are hoping for more then 1000 terms to use in our search, which will also give rise to an extensive section in The Academic Portal link of this site.

Examples:
Names: ex. Seconda Pia
Dates: ex. 1978
Places: ex. Italy, Turin, Edessa
Phrases: ex. photographic negative
Single words: ex. Shroud, Turin, resurrection
