Still, the Shroud reveals to us even more. For, in a way, it reveals to us the Trinity. The blood images are clear evidence of the humanity of Jesus. The resurrected image of Jesus not only shows us the Divinity of Jesus, but also reveals to us the Father. For Jesus said, “He who sees me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). All of this is made possible by the Holy Spirit who carries out the action of Christ; for it is God who wills, Christ who speaks, and the Spirit who acts (see Genesis 1:1-3). Jesus is the “image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15) Father, Son and Spirit. In the Shroud, He gives us His image so that we can reflect and see the image of the Triune God.
